McLaren Vale
McLaren Vale's excellent soil structure and mild Mediterranean climate places it at the top of the quality scale. This region produces elegant wines with generous yet soft fruit flavors, fine tannin structures and excellent aging potential. McLaren Vale is the leading appellation for Australia's best-known red varietal - shiraz , as well as grenache , another variety with Rhone roots that thrives in the region.

Barossa Valley
One of Australia's oldest and best-known wine producing areas, the Barossa's first plantings occurred in the mid 1850's. It is known for its mild, dry climate, and soils which provide ideal conditions for growing premium grapes. Cabernet sauvignon , the classic warm-climate grape, is one of the top reds produced in the Barossa Valley.

Adelaide Hills
This diverse hill region east of Adelaide is on the forefront of quality wine development in Australia. The higher elevations, combined with the evening breezes that come off the nearby Gulf of St. Vincent, create perfect growing conditions for cool-climate grapes. Chardonnay from this appellation is recognized as some of the best produced anywhere in Australia.
